Volunteering with Women for Life  The ministries of Women for Life lean heavily upon the gifts and abilities of many volunteers. Women and men who have their own personal story of an unplanned pregnancy, adoption or abortion have a special gift to share. If they have found God’s healing grace and are ready to use that experience to help others, they may make terrific counselors! Those who may not have a personal story, but a great gift of mercy or a passion for what we do through Assurance may also make wonderful, new volunteers. We invite you to come and check us out to see if your gifts and passions for ministry fit with the volunteer opportunities we offer. Special Care Net Training is required for working as a volunteer counselor in our Center and/or as a hotline counselor. Using your spiritual gifts can bring some of the most rewarding experiences of your life, and what could be more rewarding than knowing your work helped to save the life of a baby, as well as a young woman from the life-long pain of an abortion? If you're unsure of where to serve or need assistance with defining your spiritual gifts, we’ll be glad to help you discover the wonderful treasures and abilities God has for you! The following are just some of the ways you can use your life experiences, gifts and talents to make an eternal difference: Prayer Partner Prayer is the very heart of our ministry. We need people who are committed to pray for us daily and to lift up special prayer requests given my e-mail and phone. Office Volunteer Average 4 hours per month helping with clerical work. Volunteer Coordinator Average 4 hours per week helping volunteers find their place to serve and sending reminders. Church Liaison Average 4 hours per month keeping good connections between your church and our ministry. Committee Member Average 8 hours per month serving a committee that fits your expertise. (Examples of committees: Marketing, Special Event Planning, Facilities. A complete list of committees is available upon request.) Boutique Manager Average 4 hours per week organizing the clothing boutique and notifying church groups of specific needs. Center Counselor Average 4 to 12 hours per month, based on your availability, meeting clients and offering your gift of mercy. (Requires 21 hours of training, which we provide.) Hotline Counselor One (or more) overnight shift(s) per month taking phone calls in your home or on you cell phone, from clients during the hours between 5 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. (Requires same training as Center Counselor.) Volunteer Nurses Average 4 hours or more per month offering basic nursing services to support staff nurse. (Requires same training as Center Counselor.) Client Mentoring Average 4 hours or more per month providing one-on-one mentoring of a young woman. Male Counseling ‘On call’ to meet with young men who are interested in Christ-centered counseling. (Must have some counseling or pastoral experience.) Other Ideas?
