Every child is a story yet to be told.
With nearly 25 years of history and thousands of lives changed by the ministries of Women for Life, there are countless stories to be told of children who are alive today because their moms found Assurance. The list of stories from clients whose lives have been touched by your generosity grows every day. We are currently in the process of collecting many of these stories so that they may be celebrated and shared. The stories we have been given permission to share are written below. What a difference you enable us to make!
Lisa's Story When I first found out I was pregnant I didn't know where to turn. I had been dating a guy for a few months and thought to myself, "What have I done with my life?" I'm a 21-year old college student hoping to be a successful physical therapist someday. I didn't see that happening anymore. Having many different emotions running through my mind, we decided to turn to Assurance Care for support and guidance. They really helped us in talking through the different options we had such as abortion, adoption or raising the child ourselves. Two of the three options were okay for my boyfriend, raising the child ourselves was not. Abortion was not an option for me; adoption I thought about. After talking it through with the help of Maureen, my counselor at Assurance, and my parents, I made the decision of raising the child myself. On Sept. 11, my precioius little angel, Gavin, was born. It is sad to see the father of my son not involved, but God has a plan for everything and I wouldn't change a thing! I could not have made that decision without the support I received from my family, friends and especially the guidance I received [at Assurance] when I found out I was expecting a baby. I am so thankful to have them a part of my life! Kay's Story When I think about God recording every day of my life in His book before I ever took a breath, it takes my breath away! His all-sufficient grace and tender mercies amaze me. I have opportunities almost daily to testify to our client of God’s goodness. As one who found myself lost and wandering in the land of sin’s consequences at age 19, I can relate to many of their emotions. But, having the opportunity to fast-forward 41 years and seeing what my God has done with repentant sin I just can’t help but testify! This past Mother’s Day He brought me to my knees in sobs of humble gratitude when I read the following letter from my precious granddaughter, Samantha: Dear Gramma K, First of all, Happy Mother’s Day! I hope that all is well and everyone is doing fine! I just want to tell you thank you from the bottom of my heart. Ever since I have become a mom I have realized how truly amazing a gift that is and I’ve never felt so in love with anyone like I love my Jaden! I also never realized what moms do! When I think about your decision to let my mom go up for adoption I am overwhelmed with respect for you. You not only gave her the gift of life, but you gave me life and Jaden life and on and on down the road, so many lives will come from you! It’s amazing to me how God destines our lives and how some way or another, good comes from everything in our lives. God has blessed us all by reuniting you and my mom, so that each of us could intertwine our lives with one another. I’m so happy that you’re my Gramma and especially since you’re so sweet and genuine! I commend your strength and your faith and I pray I could only become half the woman you are someday!  May you have many more Mother’s Days ahead & I love you! I miss you and hope I can see you soon. Give me a call when you get a chance. Love Always, Sam Sam has given me permission to share her letter with you and with clients. Her words have already saved at least one baby. A client was convinced abortion was her only answer despite seeing her baby on the ultrasound and recognizing the "rightness" of adoption for herself and her baby. After hearing my story and reading Sam’s letter, she tenderly put aside what had seemed right up until then. She is now working with an adoption agency to make an adoption plan for her baby. "Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, that you and your descendants might live!” Deut. 30:19 (NLT) I’m livin’ that one!!
